Abstract

The reaction of electrophilic substitution of 2-bromo-6-(4-bromophenyl)- imidazo [2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole with potassium thiocyanate in the presence of molecular bromine was studied. It was shown that the introduced substituents enter the C (5) -H position of the imidazole fragment of the heterocycle under study. The structure of the first obtained compound was established by IR-, 1H- and 13C – NMR - spectroscopy, and the composition by elemental analysis.
